The City Manager's office serves as the chief administrative branch of Ketchikan municipal government. Comprised of a staff of three, it oversees the daily operation of 14 separate departments and numerous operating divisions of the City that have a combined annual budget in excess of $44.7 million annually.
In 1999, the City Manager's office assumed the administrative responsibility for Ketchikan Public Utilities. Comprised of three primary and three support divisions that have a combined annual budget in excess of $43.9 million, KPU provides electric, telecommunications and water services to the community.
The goal of the City of Ketchikan is to provide quality municipal services as efficiently and effectively as possible for both local residents and visitors. To that end, staff seeks to be responsive to citizens' concerns and encourages members of the public who are experiencing difficulties with local government to bring issues to the attention of the office.
