Mission:
Gateway Center for Human Services provides treatment and support services to individuals and families to enable them to recover their lives from mental illness, traumatic brain injury, emotional disturbances, and addiction. Gateway provides a spectrum of services, from counseling for youth and adults facing situational life challenges to those disabled by mental and emotional disturbances and life-threatening chemical addiction.
Gateway Center for Human Services was the first
community mental health center established in the
state of Alaska in 1970. The Center philosophy integrates
mental health and substance abuse treatment approaches
in its programs. Gateway is staffed with qualified,
licensed, and experienced mental health clinicians,
which include two (2) consulting psychiatrists,
a clinical psychologist, licensed therapists, social
