City Clerk City Charter

The City of Ketchikan is organized under a home rule charter. It was first adopted in October of 1960 and has been amended eight times since that date (1973, 1978, 1989, 1990, 1993, 1995, 1999 and 2002). Any amendments to the Charter must be approved by a vote of the public.
The Ketchikan Charter that is located on the City of Ketchikan's website is a document that, for various reasons, may not be updated with the most recent changes. It is placed here to assist the public and is not intended to mislead or provide inaccurate information; however, it simply may not be the most current version.
