The City of Ketchikan and
Ketchikan Public Utilities shall observe the following
holidays as "closed" holidays on the dates
specified by the City Manager or the City Council:
City/KPU Holiday Closures
New Year's Day (January 1)
Martin Luther King Day (Third Monday in January)
Memorial Day (Last Monday in May)
Independence Day (July 4)
Labor Day (First Monday in September)
Veteran's Day (November 11)
Thanksgiving Day (Fourth Thursday in November)
Christmas Day (December 25)
In addition to the above, employees of the City
of Ketchikan d/b/a/ Ketchikan Public Utilities will
observe the following five holidays:
KPU Holiday Closures-Additional
President's Day (Third Monday in February)
Seward's Day (Last Monday in March)
Alaska Day (October 18)
Day after Thanksgiving (Fourth Friday in November)
The following holidays will be considered "open"
holidays for all employees except those working
for Ketchikan Public Utilities. City facilities,
except Ketchikan Public Utilities, will remain open
and business will be conducted on a limited basis.
City Holiday - Offices Open
President's Day (Third Monday in February)
Alaska Day (October 18)
NOTE: If a holiday falls on a Sunday, the following
Monday shall be observed as the holiday. If the
holiday falls on a Saturday, the preceding Friday
shall be observed as the holiday.
